MRS3 engine overheating

Messagepar turbojet » Lun Juil 13, 2020 10:17 am

Hello!!

I am a regular doing trackdays with my mrs3 ready for the circuit. In hot days I have engine overheating problems, for example, the last day of the track at the Circuit de Catalunya (Barcelona) I could'nt do more than 3 laps because the water temperature increased to 115 degrees, in fact, I had to reduce speed.

I would like to know if there are more people with this problem, I have a Stage 1 with decat and Wagner IC, my AFR is about 0.77-0.80 lambda at full throttle. Also I've installed a clio 200 75ºc thermostat with Mocool to aid.

I can think may be normal because in hot days (30-35ºc) the car feels faint but, a friend of mine with very same preparation don't have this problems.

I have to say that I am a mechanic and my car really works perfectly, but I do not know if this "problem" is usual or really the solution is to mount a turbocooler or a big water radiator.

Thanks!!!!

I don’t think the fan was the problem because when you drive on a track, your speed is enough to give some cool air for your radiator.

Are you sure your calorstat works well?
